Bournemouth Sports FC 5 – 1 Ham Rec Reserves

20.09.25-Chapel Gate-3pm ko

Bournemouth Sports impressive home form continues following a fine 5-1 win against neighbours Ham Rec Reserves at Chapel Gate.

The hosts took the lead in the 13th minute when a corner from Max Norris deceived everyone and ended up going straight in. Sports striker Dan Hayward thought he had increased his sides lead in the 32nd minute superbly heading home a cross, but the effort was ruled out for pushing. However three minutes later a cross from full back Jake Perch found Hayward who played the ball off for fellow striker Sam Bennett to finish superbly just inside the box.

The visitors who opted for more of a passing game always looked lively with the likes of Elliott Birtwistle and Matt Kerse on the ball and almost pulled one back in the 42nd minute following a goal mouth scramble which included Sports keeper Jakub Lewiarz making a fine save and some fantastic last ditch defending by the backline to prevent a goal. Ollie Rodriguez would pull one back on the stroke of half time though with a shot just inside the near post. HT 2-1

Into the second half and as has been evident on numerous occasions this season the men from Chapel Gate scored twice from set plays to ultimately put the game to bed. In the 65th minute a long throw from Jake Perch was headed home by central defender Tommy White and three minutes later a Taylor Edwards corner was headed in by Dan Hayward.

The men from Chapel gate would add a 5th in the 78th minute when Hayward played a superb weighted pass to winger Taylor Webb to race onto a finish in style to take his goal tally to seven for the season. Late on Winger James Bergin almost added a 6th goal, but saw his effort hit the side netting.

Bournemouth Sports have now won their opening six league games at Chapel Gate and as ever look very strong from their direct style of play. Their have been many player departures from the side that won the league last season, but the new players have slotted in very well and the side look both strong and competitive yet again.
