Bournemoth Sports FC 5 – 2 Westland Sports

Bournemouth Sports produced a five star display with a comprehensive 5-2 win against Westland Sports from Yeovil.

The men from Chapel Gate started brightly and in the ascendancy racing into a 4-0 lead inside 40 minutes. Bournemouth keeper Jakub Lewiarz hit a perfect long pass forward to winger Taylor Webb who’s run and cross into the box was converted by player coach Joe White from close range in the 6th minute. Taylor Webb would double his teams advantage in the 20th minute with a fine run and left foot shot into the corner past Westland keeper Harrison Wallis.

Bournemouth with their tails up added a 3rd only a moment later when a cross from Joe White was headed out and volleyed into the roof of the net from outside the area by Tom Beckett. The hosts almost added a 4th in the 27th minute following some good link up play between James Bergin & Joe White with White going close to adding to his tally.

However Joe White would score his second and his team’s 4th in the 40th minute when he followed up a shot from James Bergin to convert from close range. The visitors rarely threatened the hosts in the opening 40 minutes, but were handed a lifeline just before half time when Bournemouth captain Tommy White fouled a player inside the box who duly converted the spot kick. HT 4-1

The second half saw the visitors from Yeovil have more possession of the ball and creating some half chances and they would reduce the deficit in the 63rd minute following a good cross into the box and a headed goal past Lewiarz.

Taylor Webb grabbed his second goal of the game in the 76th minute heading home a cross from Billy Mcdermott and Striker Dan Hayward almost increased his teams lead moments later, but saw his fierce left foot shot from inside the area well save by Wallis.

The men from Chapel Gate went close to increasing the lead when Jamie Booth played a low cross into the box, but Taylor Webb was unable to make a connection. A Tom Beckett corner saw Billy Mcdermott almost doubling his side’s lead, but his effort was cleared off the line by a Portland defender. At the other end and late on in the half Portland striker Rocco Walsh headed over from a cross. HT 1-0

Bournemouth started the second half brightly with a Jake Perch cross finding substitute James Bergin who fired just over. Keeper Jakub Lewiarz had to be alert in the 80th minute to make a fine save from an effort just outside the box whilst Bournemouth looked for that second goal, but it just didn’t arrive.

Verwood Town 1 v 3 Bournemouth Sports

Potterne Park – 22.11.25

Bournemouth Sports recorded a fourth consecutive win in all competitions with a 3-1 victory against Verwood at a very wet Potterne Park.

Weather conditions coupled with a very muddy pitch contributed to a very scrappy game at times and the first half saw chances few and far between. The hosts had a few crosses into the Bournemouth box and shots that didn’t trouble Bournemouth keeper Jakub Lewiarz whilst for the visitors a couple of shots from outside the area by Jake Perch went wide and Captain Taylor Edwards also saw two efforts flash across the face of the goal.

The deadlock was broken just before half time when a Max Norris corner deceived Verwood keeper Atygai Alimov and ended up going in just inside the near post. HT 0-1

With the weather deteriorating in the second half the game lacked fluency, but Lewiarz had to be on guard to pull off a fine save in the 65th minute to keep his side ahead. Moments later substitute Rob Howard bundled home from close range following a cross to the far post provided by Taylor Webb. Indeed Howard would almost add to his tally a couple of moments later, but saw his effort go wide of the target.

Verwood pulled a goal back in the 80th minute following a corner and resulting goal mouth scramble the referee deemed the ball had crossed the line much to the annoyance of the Bournemouth players who protested and claimed it hadn’t. However a few minutes from time Rob Howard grabbed his second of the afternoon racing onto a through ball to finish and put the game to bed.

Taylor Webb almost grabbed a 4th Bournemouth goal when played in, but saw his effort come back off the post. FT 1-3

Bournemouth Sports FC 3 – 1 Gillingham Town

1st Nov – Chapel Gate – 14.00 ko

Bournemouth Sports secured a seventh home win of the season with a comfortable 3-1 result against Gillingham Town from North West Dorset.

The hosts started brightly with Jamie Booth going close before they took the lead in the 11th minute. A long throw from Jake Perch was initially cleared, but eventually ended up back with him and his cross was met by Sports striker Rob Howard who’s goal bound effort was sliced into his own net by a Gills defender whilst attempting to clear it.

The men from Chapel Gate went 2-0 ahead only moments later when Rob Howard converted well from close range following good play between wingers James Bergin and Taylor Webb. At the other end the visitors went close following a good pattern of play which resulted in the striker missing from close range. On another occasion veteran Bournemouth keeper Marc Davies had to be alert to block a shot from close range and at an acute angle.

James Bergin saw his direct free kick rattle off the underside of the bar in the 37th minute with the hosts unable to follow up on the loose ball to extend their lead. HT 2-0

The second half became a somewhat scrappy affair with lots of stops and starts which ultimately affected the hosts more as it disrupted their rhythm and fluency. However they eventually got the third goal in the 70th minute when Captain Taylor Edwards played in a low free kick into the box which was converted by Central Defender Daniel Viner scoring his first goal for the club following his move from Hamworthy United Reserves in the summer.

Gillingham won a penalty in the 80th minute when Jake Perch was judged to have fouled a player inside the box and the resulting spot kick was duly converted. Bournemouth held out firm in the final ten minutes as they were on the backfoot and defended well ensuring an important 3 points and a first win since late September following some tough fixtures in October.

Balti Sports 4 – 5 Bournemouth Sports FC

27.09.25 – Weymouth College Sports Centre – ko 3.00pm

It was raining goals in a highly entertaining game at Weymouth College as last seasons DPL league champions Bournemouth Sports came away with all three points, winning 5-4 with striker Dan Hayward scoring the winner in injury time.

The hosts started brightly and went ahead in the 11th minute when striker Troy Walbridge converted from close range inside the box. The visitors from Chapel Gate went close on two occasions with winger Taylor Webb seeing both efforts go over. However Webb would level in the 27th minute racing onto a flick on from Hayward to score.

Bournemouth Sports were now beginning to take control of the game and went ahead in the 32nd minute with Hayward heading home from a corner. Fellow striker Sam Bennett put the visitors 3-1 ahead in the 38th minute heading in from a cross. Balti playing with much enthusiasm pulled one back, again striker Walbridge converting from inside the area. Sam Bennett would get his second of the afternoon racing onto a through ball and finishing well in the 41st minute before Walbridge would complete his hat-trick and score the goal of the game with a thunderous effort from 30 yards. HT 3-4

Balti Sports started the second half brightly chasing the equaliser which eventually came in the 70th minute when substitute Matt Chambers scored from close range. At the other end Bournemouth striker Sam Bennett went close twice, lobbing Jacob English in the Balti goal, but saw his effort bounce wide of the target and on another occasion saw his powerful header superbly saved by English.

Bournemouth keeper Jacob Lewiarz was certainly having a busy period in the second half and pulled off several fine saves to keep his team in the game. As the game went on Balti Sports enjoyed more of the ball and looked the most likely to grab the winning goal, Bournemouth sat deep and looked to play on the break. The winning goal came in the 90th minute when striker Dan Hayward headed in from a corner taking his tally to nine goals for the season and ensuring the men from Chapel Gate remain in second place in the league table and went home with all 3 points. 20.09.25-Chapel Gate-3pm ko

Bournemouth Sports impressive home form continues following a fine 5-1 win against neighbours Ham Rec Reserves at Chapel Gate.

The hosts took the lead in the 13th minute when a corner from Max Norris deceived everyone and ended up going straight in. Sports striker Dan Hayward thought he had increased his sides lead in the 32nd minute superbly heading home a cross, but the effort was ruled out for pushing. However three minutes later a cross from full back Jake Perch found Hayward who played the ball off for fellow striker Sam Bennett to finish superbly just inside the box.

The visitors who opted for more of a passing game always looked lively with the likes of Elliott Birtwistle and Matt Kerse on the ball and almost pulled one back in the 42nd minute following a goal mouth scramble which included Sports keeper Jakub Lewiarz making a fine save and some fantastic last ditch defending by the backline to prevent a goal. Ollie Rodriguez would pull one back on the stroke of half time though with a shot just inside the near post. HT 2-1

Into the second half and as has been evident on numerous occasions this season the men from Chapel Gate scored twice from set plays to ultimately put the game to bed. Bournemouth Sports have now won their opening six league games at Chapel Gate and as ever look very strong from their direct style of play. Their have been many player departures from the side that won the league last season, but the new players have slotted in very well and the side look both strong and competitive yet again.
