Bournemouth Sports Ladies FC was formed in May 2013 to provide greater opportunities for women to become involved in grassroots football in a supportive and cooperative environment.
The ladies section has grown over the past 2 years and now supports 2 teams. The first team competing at Tier 5 in the Southern Region Women’s Premier football league, for the first time this season after consecutive promotions through tier 5 and 6.
The reserve side, which was created in the 2019/20 season has since experienced much success, remaining unbeaten in Hampshire divisions 2 and 3 and now competing at Tier 7 in the Hampshire County Womens Football League division 1.
The ladies train at Chapel Gate on Wednesday evenings 7:00-9:00pm, and at Bournemouth University, Talbot Campus on Thursday evenings 7:45-9:00pm. Both teams compete in their respective leagues at 2:00pm on Sunday afternoons.
Players of all abilities aged 16+ are welcome to join the team and are invited to get in contact. The team have multiple contacts with other local clubs in the area if the level is not suitable. Aspirations for the club are to continue to climb the womens football pyramid and to continue to increase female participation in grassroots football.
