29.08.26 Chapel Gate 3pm KO

With the weather only seeming to be able to operate in extremes at the moment we took to the pitch at Chapel Gate not in the recent blistering heat! But in rain and extremely strong winds!

Sports had the bulk of the play in the first half but couldn’t break down an extremely keen and disciplined Wimborne side.
Half time and a few choice words were shared and it wasn’t long into the second half before James Bergin ran through and finished extremely well through the legs of the oncoming gk.
A second wasn’t too far away after some industrious midfield work Lewis Evans rasped home a low drive from 30 yards!
Wimborne never stopped working and got their reward after a moment of confusion in the back line they slotted home from 25yards to make it 2-1 to sports.
This seemed to stir sports again and they woke up to finish the game strongly with Billy McDermott breaking the offside trap and scoring the 3rd and final goal.
