A highly entertaining game at Chapel Gate saw the visitors Blandford from North Dorset come away with all 3 points. Chances were few and far between in the opening exchanges before Blandford striker Mark Ford volleyed superbly into the roof of the Sports net from a ring wing cross on 15 minutes.
Sports responded well and had a lot of possession and in the 28th minute winger Karol Borowski capitalised on a mix up in the Blandford defence to score from 25 yards out. The half then filtered out with no clear cut chances for either team. HT 1-1
The second half was a somewhat lively encounter with the pace and tempo of the game picking up. Indeed the hosts almost went ahead, but a superb save from Sports Keeper Jem James kept them at bay. James had to be alert moments later to tip over a powerful shot as well.
Blandford finally made the breakthrough on 72 minutes when again James made a good save from a shot inside the box from close range only for Blandford winger George Coleman to score from the rebound.
Sports responded well and on 80 minutes were awarded a penalty as the lively Madison Wilkin was upended in the box, but saw his spot kick fly over the bar. The game was very open at this stage and Blandford put the game to bed in the 89th minute when the pacey Reuben Stanley raced clear of the Sports defence and took his goal very well. FT 1-3
