Bournemouth Sports FC v Swanage Town & Herston FC.

23.09.23 DPL LEAGUE CUP.

Bournemouth Sports powered their way into the next round of the DPL League Cup hitting the Swans from Swanage for six in the process.

The Swans however took the lead against the run of play in the 20th minute WITH a great strike by Striker Cody Moore from outside the area into the top corner giving Sports debutant Goalkeeper Joel Hirdle no chance.

The men from Chapel Gate responded positively when just four minutes later a cross from winger James Bergin was headed onto the post by midfielder Jamie Trimble for Striker Jack Voisey to follow up and convert from close range. That man Trimble was upended in the box by Swans Goalkeeper Taylor Hibbs in the 35th minute, but striker Voisey saw his spot kick go wide of the post.

Sports would soon make amends and found themselves ahead when Jamie Trimble powered home a header from a James Bergin corner in the 38th minute, before going 3-1 ahead two minutes later from another corner this time taken by Gabriel Spennato and that man Trimble got the connection which was parried by Hibbs for James Bergin to finish off inside the area. 3-1 HT

The hosts now full of confidence saw themselves go 4-1 ahead in the 52nd minute when a cross into the box from Jack Voisey found Matt Gane unmarked and he converted from close range. Sports increased their lead on 63 minutes when yet again Jamie Trimble headed home another corner from James Bergin.

Into the final sages of the game and the Swans pulled another goal back in the 86th minute when Ocean Smith converted from close range, before substitute striker Sam Darlow scored for the hosts in the last minute from inside the area following a good run and pass by fellow substitute Will Tuffill. FT 6-2
