Bournemouth Sports staged a sensational comeback, Trailing at 2-0 with just 10 minutes plus added time remaining they ran out 3-2 winners on a warm autumn afternoon at Chapel Gate in front of a decent sized crowd.
The game itself was very open, both sides having decent chances with both Goalkeepers thwarting any real danger. For the hosts Jamie Trimble saw a header come off the bar, Sam Darlow went close on a couple of occasions whilst at the other end the Hammers saw an effort come off the woodwork.
The visitors went ahead just before half time capitalising on some hesitation in the Sports defence to take the lead and go in 1-0 ahead at half time.
Into the second half and it was more of the same, a very open game with both sides looking to press on. The Hammers went further ahead in the 64th minute again punishing an error made by the hosts.
With just 10 minutes remaining Sports went into overdrive, First up full back Matt Ellis was picked out with a great pass from Gabriel Spennato and cut inside the box to fire home to give the hosts some hope.
Four minutes later Sports were level when Jack Voisey converted from the penalty spot. Central defender Cameron Shaw gave his side the lead in the 88th minute rising above Hammers goalkeeper Jacob Deaken from a set piece delivery, his header came off the woodwork and back for Shaw to convert from close range giving Sports all 3 points.
That’s four consecutive wins now for the men from Chapel Gate as they seem to be getting their season back on track following a somewhat indifferent start.
