24.08.24 – WEYMOUTH COLLEGE SPORTS CENTRE – KO 3.00pm
Bournemouth Sports recorded a 4th consecutive win this time on the road coming away from Weymouth with an impressive 4-1 win against hosts Balti Sports.
It was the visitors who were the most lively for long periods in both halves and dominated in terms of possession and opportunities. The men from Chapel Gate had to wait until the 35th minute to go ahead when great link up play between Taylor Edwards and Max Mountford saw a cross converted by Jamie Trimble with a shot from the edge of the area.
This goal seem to give Bournemouth a lift as they then produced some great football and that man Trimble scored again in the 40th minute having been picked out with a great pass from Tom Beckett, Trimble fired home from inside the box past Balti goalkeeper Theo Sadeghi. Sports would find themselves 3-0 ahead just before half time when Max Norris fired home from close range following good work initially down the right hand side by Jack Voisey who’s ball into the box was held up well by Max Mountford for Norris to score his first goal for the club. HT 0-3
Bournemouth made five substitutions at early stages in the second half and went further ahead in the 60th minute when substitute Sam Darlow fired home with a powerful left foot shot from the edge of the area. Balti grabbed a consolation goal three minutes later following some confusion in the Bournemouth defence which saw Balti substitute Danny Andrews score from inside the box.
Darlow went close late on with a powerful header from close range and it was the men from Bournemouth who went home with the three points having notched up 13 from 15 in the opening five games and currently sitting in second place in the league behind leaders Dorchester Sports who they face next Saturday.
