Bournemouth Sports FC 4 – 1 Westlands Sports

Bournemouth Sports recorded successive and consecutive wins against Westland Sports from Yeovil on a pleasant sunny afternoon at Chapel Gate.

The hosts really struggled for any fluency and tenacity in the early stages and it was the visitors from Yeovil who started brightly. Indeed a superb strike on the volley from outside the area by Josh John would see them go 1-0 ahead in the 24th minute following a set play.

The goal seemed to give the hosts a much needed wake up call and striker Sam Darlow scored a great individual goal in the 33rd minute to bring the hosts back on level terms. Bournemouth raised their game and took the lead four minutes later when striker Josh Moody capitalised on some hesitation in the Westland defence to convert from just outside the area. James Bergin would add a 3rd just before half time volleying home a superb cross from fellow winger Taylor Webb. HT 3-1

Into the second half and the men from Chapel Gate carried on having the majority of possession and creating chances notably with Josh Moody seeing an effort saved from close range, James Bergin firing wide of the far post when played in on the break before Sam Darlow grabbed his 22nd goal of the season in the 81st minute converting from close range.

Bournemouth had further chances late on to add to their tally with player coach Joe White firing into the side netting and on another occasion Sam Darlow hit the bar following a goal mouth scramble that prevented a 5th Bournemouth goal. At the other end Bournemouth goalkeeper Ryan Knibbs made two great saves late on in the game to keep the visitors at bay. FT 4-1

With just five games now remaining for the men from Chapel Gate they sit in third place in the league and on 59 points, ahead of them in second place are Cobham Sports on 60 points who have played one game more and Dorchester Sports remain top on 67 points, but Bournemouth Sports have four games in hand on them.
